So my Ford F-150 decided to give up on me this morning right when I was about to head out for a delivery run. The battery has been acting a bit sluggish for a few days but I honestly thought I could push it a bit longer, big mistake. I opened the hood and the terminals look corroded and there’s some white powdery stuff around the positive post which I’ve read is a sign the battery is on its last legs. I managed to get a jump from a colleague but the truck barely started and I could tell the alternator was working overtime to try and keep things going. I’m not really keen on driving it around too much in this condition because I don’t want to end up stranded somewhere in the middle of Sharjah with a truck full of goods. What I really need is a reliable Ford battery change service in Sharjah that can handle the installation properly. I’ve called a couple of places but they either don’t have the right size battery for the F-150 or they just give me vague answers about availability. I know Ford trucks need a specific cold cranking amp rating especially considering the summer heat we get here, so I don’t want to compromise on quality. The thing is, I’m not even sure if the battery is the only issue or if there’s something draining it, because I did notice the interior lights flickering a bit last week which was kind of odd. Has anyone here used a workshop in Sharjah that actually stocks heavy-duty batteries for American trucks and can do the swap quickly without messing around? I’d love to find a place that can test the charging system as well just to be on the safe side, because I really can’t afford any downtime with work. Any pointers would be massively appreciated, I’m kind of in a tight spot right now and just need to get back on the road as soon as possible without worrying about breaking down again.
